Are we in NYC? And those stairs look awfully flimsy. Spent more than an hour there trying to find some stuff on the first floor, kinda stinky, most things are stained, dirty, and unorganized, lower quality stuff downstairs.
I’m of two minds about this place.
I love some of their stuff and it’s reasonable in terms of price. They are very helpful and have it all. However, the rental section was pretty bad.
It was really disgusting and time consuming. It’s not enough to just say, “we washed it” and then put it back out there.

Why would anyone rent a costume not vintage mind you, just a store bought costume in that condition? Let it go. It’s garbage.
I just wish they would cull that inventory so it’s not all crammed and dirty. The decent rentals get lost in a sea of stuff that is shamelessly raggedy and should be retired.
I want to love this place again! My boyfriend and I love this place. They have a ton to choose from. You can rent costumes or buy awesome vintage clothing and accessories.

They’re always super helpful and have a crazy awesome selection. So many choices, though! If you don’t have a good idea of what you want, be prepared to spend hours there.
Hopefully you have the day off, because the hours aren’t very convenient.
Wouldn’t it be nice if they extended the hours at least for Halloween season? Staff is mildly friendly if you’re dropping money.
Just pretend you’re in NYC where it’s crowded and expensive. Every time I walk into Chelsea’s I have to convince myself that if I get lost, someone will find me.
But you know what? I know that vintage shops are usually like a maze of mish-moshed items typically grouped by men’s or women’s clothing, housewares and knick knacks.
I’m prepared for the cluster and over whelming feeling when I walk in. Chelsea’s is different.
I mean by decade, theme, fabric styles–you name it. If you’re looking for something in particular, you’ll be surprised how easily you’ll find it in the thousands of items at Chelsea’s Vintage.
If you can’t find it yourself, these little gurus will find it for you.
It’s amazing how much they can remember! The awesome-sauce doesn’t stop there. Looking for a costume? You can head over here and rent something from their ginormous collection for a couple of weeks.

At my last stop it had less than half the stock it did on my previous shopping trips and higher prices. I won’t be bothering to stop in again Great selection of vintage clothing.
I, however do not enjoy the fact that it is full to the ceiling, it makes me feel like I’m lost which makes me stressed and makes my shopping experience not as fun as it should be.
Very little space to walk in. Also it is pretty expensive. All and all; I enjoy this store, but it cost too much money for damaged clothing and it’s hard to look through everything.
I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I did end up buying a lovely hat and then going down the street to ‘the Cleveland shop’ which was very nice. It was a small vintage store with two lovely old women working there.

After browsing for a bit I mentally made a check list of items that I’d be coming back for tomorrow. On my way out the shop attendants were very rude with stares and no “good byes” or “comeback soon.
It was a bad decision. I rode my bike and parked it next to a partially bent fence on a grassy area. There is no place to put your bike that wont make it a target to get stolen.
I’m going to have to get a grave stone to mark it. Went inside. No greeting again. Cant find some items and ask about a skirt that was there yesterday.

I really dig Chelsea’s. I usually spend at least 2 hours looking through their dresses on each visit. It’s THAT overwhelming.
